It happened to us.
In May 2026 we paid for a heat treatment in our own home. Two bedrooms and the lounge. The charts said everything had worked: every sensor above the target line, held there for three hours.
On the second night we killed three bed bugs in fifteen minutes. It was like that for several nights.
While we waited for the second visit, we bought insecticidal dust and a puffer and did what we could ourselves. The second visit brought steam and a residual spray. The report arrived days later, part handwritten, and told us nothing we could check: sensor numbers with no locations, a client signature line marked N/A. About a week on, moving furniture, we found two dead bed bugs. The heat treatment had not worked, that much we knew. What we could never find out was what finally did: the steam and residual spray, or the dust we spread ourselves.
When we walked back in after treatment, nothing looked different. We saw nothing and we knew nothing.
So we built the company we needed that week.
